Stats of a 2 month butterball
Lauren is now 2 months old and a whopping 13 pounds 4 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long! She sleeps 6 hours at night which is awesome for me, but I feel a little bad for her when she eats the first time in the morning because she kind of gets shot in the tonsils sometimes. She has really discovered her voice lately and loves to babble. She is also smiling more on demand instead of just when she gets done relieving herself. So, here are some pics of my butterball. Sorry the second one is a little fuzzy, but she was very excited about something...maybe her ability to make mom act like a fool just to get a smile.

Along with turning 2 months old, comes her first round of shots as well. She got 3 shots in the legs, and a new vaccine was administered that she had to drink, yes, she had to drink it. Neither Caitlyn nor Allison had to do that one when they were little. Lauren has been bad about spitting up every now and then so I was real nervous about her having to drink this vaccination. But, she loves her daddy so much that she saved the spitting up part for him (and a nasty diaper too!!!). Thank goodness she didn't get him as bad as she usually does, and he was wearing scrubs at work, so he had plenty of clothes to change into at a moments notice. My butterball just woke up and thinks she needs to eat again, so I guess this is it for now!

Bear got a job!!!
God has been so good to us with all of our worries about completely separating from the military and all of the securities that come with it. Bear literally found a job, sent his resume in, and got hired the next day! He is going to be doing nursing at the clinic on Fort Leavenworth! The fact that it's a clinic and not a hospital ward is awesome because he won't have all kinds of crazy shifts to rotate through. Plus, it's a GS position, so all of his time in the Army counts towards his years of working. Thank you to all of you that have kept us in your prayers through this rather trying time. It's just amazing how things work out sometimes, isn't it?!?! Now we can start buying him scrubs to eventually trade in his Army uniform for. Love you Bear!!! Congrats!!!

Sleep study and my short hair
Bear has been spending a lot of time lately getting all of his medical ducks in a row so that things will be documented for when he gets out of the Army this October. One of the things recommended that he have done was a sleep study, which he just got the unofficial results from. He had to sleep in the sleep study clinic over night hooked up to several monitors with about 15 different cords stuck everywhere from on his head down to his legs. He was told by the techs that he has moderate sleep apnea with 10-20 episodes every hour throughout the night, which means he stops breathing 10-20 times every hour. The tech thinks that he might have to use one of those cpap machines in the very near future. At least he's getting all this testing done before he gets out!!! Please keep him in your prayers that all of this works out as best as possible for him.
And of course, it's the time of year when the humidity is crazily high and I have contemplated shaving my head to help stay cool. But, I have opted to just cut it short again. My hair hasn't been this short since I met Bear in AIT back in 1999. I got my hair cut while Bear was grocery shopping with the 2 younger girls, so he had no idea what I was getting done. I told the stylist how he usually hovers over whoever cuts my hair to make sure they didn't chop too much off. When I was done getting it cut and styled, all the other girls in the shop crowded the window to watch his reaction to seeing how short my hair was (she cut about 4-6 inches off!). All the girls cracked when his eyes got huge and he muttered...WTF??? At least I didn't streak it purple like I thought about doing...yet! So this is my new do!

Laptop and bike crash
Allison has recently learned how to ride her big girl bike with training wheels instead of just her tricycle. She is going around like crazy on this little bike...makes her look so big for being so little!!! Well, she was riding around in the parking lot really fast and tried to turn too quickly and her little bike toppled right over. She literally landed on her head first. I guess she just couldn't get her hands down fast enough. This picture really doesn't do justice to what she looks like. But she's a pretty tough little girl and after some tears, she was back on her bike, riding while standing up. If I don't look it won't bother me, right?!?!
I have been a bit slow about posting updates lately because our laptop is out of commission. The back light for the screen burnt out and we were told that it was going to cost over $500 to fix it, plus the cost of shipping it to the company...crazy, right!!! So, I'm back to using our desktop computer in our room, which makes keeping an eye on all the girls a little more difficult. Anywho, more to follow soon...
